What is Emei Qigong?

Qi-feeling practiceRecently Qigong was completely unknown in the west hemisphere. Its great effectiveness and simplicity surprised everyone and it's popularity is rapidly growing. The practice of Qigong has spread from Martial Arts schools to public parks. Even as of today there are still very few people who know the real essence of Qigong. Qi - energy and Gong- practice over the time; it is not simply breathing exercises as erroneously thinking, it’s a very complex and powerful system for development of body, mind and spirit through the cultivation of vital energy called "Qi".

Lao-zi and the Tao                                                                          There are three mayor schools in China:    Shaolin, Wudang and Emei.                             Emei Qigong, unlike the Shaolin and Wudang, which focus more on martial arts, Emei Qigong focuses on the maintenance of a strong and healthy body. Every technique, every procedure and every movement is carefully selected for very specific purposes though the eight centuries of uninterrupted cultivation.

The Emei Linji school, , was created by an enlightened monk named Bai Yun means "White cloud".  He created the school based on in-depth knowledge of universal laws, the detailed  study of the human body and the interaction of man and nature. Guided by spiritual teachers, Bai Yun combined 3600 disciplines such as Taoism, Buddhism, martial arts, acupuncture, medicine herbology , ESP and treatment for diagnosis, astrology and prediction among others.

This knowledge was kept in monastic secret passing it from one lineage holder to another. The first time the lineage holder was  shared between  monk and  layman was in the middle of the last century, in response to the persecution of the monks and the massive destruction of the monasteries by the Chinese Communist Government.
